Summer is finally here...25th June!

My 25th of the month challenge.....

This month we were on holiday, so I took loads of pictures. The theme of the pictures were looking up and down and out to show a 360 degree view.....It was great fun! I have attatched a pocket with index cards with more photos on as I had too many photo's this month! I also recorded what news happened on the day...Micheal Jackson...RIP.
As you can see on the mobile phone, I was woken very early by Daisy Dog! She was being naughty and scratching at the door. I also recorded the book I was reading as I very rarely get chance to read...too much crafting. However I did find time to complete a few more pages of Isabel's 1st scrapbook...
The layout below was inspired by an article I read in The Craft Stamper it was the Sketch Challenge in July's edition. I have continue to use same range of papers fromThe Paper Company Studio which are stocked bythe Craft Den. I also included some stamped images from Paper Mania. Once I had finished the page I thought it need a bit of glitter and sparkle so I added dotty accents with stickles and some gems from my stash.

I love rainy days.....

What great British weather we are having...for ducks! It was very stormy here yesterday and it rained buckets. That's ideal sewing weather! I managed to finish off 2 projects (gold star for me!)

I recently joined a Flickr group who were doing a placemat quilt swap. When you signed up you were giving a partner who you would make a placemat for and then you would swap. Via email you and your partner were to agree colour schemes and designs....luckly my partner wanted a surprise! I choose a range of fabrics that I have collected with chickens on. I also added Ric Rac, which Im so drawn to at the moment!!

The next project I've been working on for a while...as you may know by now I like dogs! Ive made a mini quilt with some of my favourite breeds appliqued on. I love helping dog rescue charities so though may offer it to a charity to raffle and raise a bit of money as they always have vets bills to pay.

This is my favourite..... my next dog maybe....a black pug! I have free motion quilted the whole panel after appliquing the dogs on. I couldnt resist the the Bali Batik fabric's especially in my favourite colours!

Last night's scrapbooking class

The Craft Den class was as good as ever, thanks Lynne. Ive just added a few finishing touches to my page.....it was great to see everyone starting with the same papers and punches but all taking it in different directions.

I was determined to scrap some different memories so I had a rummage through some old photos. I live just on the edge of Derbyshire and I love to go for walks with friends. Im not sure what year these photos were taken but I realised I dont have any dogs with me so it must be before we got Daisy....I know I could not be without my dogs now!

How much fun can you have with Glimmer Dust?

Craft Den stock a huge range of Tattered Angels Glimmer Dust. Lynne kindly let me play with them....How much fun?? LOADS! These background paper have been made using the Tattered Angel stencils. Lay the stencil on your chosen backroung paper and spray lightly. I then turned the stencil over whilst it was still covered in ink and printed with it ...keep going until you are happy with the finished design. If you want to make a title for your page.....lay out your chipboard letters on a background paper and spray with Glimmer Dust. I used Spring Violet, Timeless Liliac and Vintage Pink.I blotted the ink with kitchen roll before removing the chipboard letters. Hey presto you get a nice shimmery background for your title to go on. If you would like to have a play with the Glimmer Dust Spray they are offer at Craft Den at £4.25.
Leave the letters and background to dry. Once the letters have dried, lightly paint over them with Blond Moments Sugar Dumpling Lustre, Sugar Floss. This is the finished page...I hope you like it?
I have used my sewing machine on this page which is a first for me...believe it or not. I like the effect though. I have also added some star gems which are out of my stash.

Last weeks Craft Den Class

As always I thoroughly enjoyed the class. When I saw the colour scheme I just knew I had to scrap these pictures, it was a perfect match to Isabel's frilly sandals!

Im back!

Thanks to the girls at work who send me these lovely flowers.
What a weekend I have had...not! I had my knee operation early Friday and was home by teatime. I have to rest for 4-5 days with it up. Isnt it weird where you get your inspiration from but I thought I might scrapbook the experience using the Blond Moments paper with the arrows on....what do you think?

Ive nearly finished my pages from last week scrapbook class at Craft Den so will post later, you'll never guess who I scrapbooked! LOL
