More bags.....

This weekend I have been busy making more bags...what did you one of you say, a girl can never have too many bags. This design is a Japanese Knot Bag, I found the pattern whilst blog hopping. Ive made three so far......

This was my first attempt, It is really easy to make so I thought I would add pockets to the second one to take my craft stuff to a crop class (black and white one). Then Ive made the third one for a friend!

Im so proud.....

I have 3 younger brothers who are growing up fast, they are all teenagers now. Andrew got his G.C.S.E results on Thursday and he passed with flying colours (A&B's). I thought I would scrap an old photograph of them when the Twins were 2 and I think Andrew will be about 4 to acknowledge Andrew's exam results. I kept the page very simple by using the Colour My World template and my favourite Bo Bunny Flowers which are from the Craft Den. I even added a tiny bit of bling! The photo below shows how grown up they are now......

Well.... this month as flown by again and the 25th August has been and gone so I have finished my monthly page. I had a bad day! I started off well, took the photo of the clock to show what time I got up, took a photo of the gardens at Thornbury hospital as I had a physiotherapy appointment......Then the next time I thought about it was at 8.30 that evening! oooops!

Id had a busy day, I went up to the Craft Den for a play and a chat...then I had my haircut and went to a friends for tea. I think I recovered it well, I took pictures of all the nice flowers I had recieved with get well soon wishes and one of me and my favourite pastime....on the laptop blog hopping!

George's first day

This weeks challenge on Wednesday stamper is Dogs! I love using stamps on my scrap book pages. Ive used Blonde Moments Sweetheats stamps. Here is George's First Day.....

Ive been meaning to share George's story on my blog for a while, so here goes. I fostered for a charity called Bullies In Need. Our first foster only stayed a day, she had already found a forever home and our house was just a pit stop on her journey. However our second foster.....I had a called from the charity organised Ann, a family were going through a bad separation and the dog was surplus to requirements! A member of the charity had been and assessed him in his home and he was a big cuddle monster. He had a few medical problems which were not being treated due to lack of money, the priority for the dog was to get him back on his medication for an underactive thyroid as he had no energy and struggled to walk round the block with the assessor.

I collect him from his owners at a service station on the M1. He was gorgeous....so cuddly! After his first trip to the vet we knew he would be with us until he was fully recoperated. Over the next 2 weeks his energy levels started to pick up and he was a totally different dog. I couldnt part with him so I became a member of the failed fosters club!
He has been with 3 years. He is now 10 and I couldn't imagine life without him!

52 weeks sketch #34

This weeks sketch from 52 weeks caught my attention...you know me I like to add a few photographs to my pages! The layout was ideal for Isabel's 1st birthday party. Ive gone for the distressed look, once I start distressing the edges of the paper I couldnt stop...everything got the same treatment! As always Ive completed a double page layout!

Come on girls....I need you help, should I add journalling or not?? Ive trialled some journalling on the photo below.

My weekend....

Last Thursday's Scrapbooking class at the Craft Den was great...just what I needed! We used the new Bo Bunny papers. I scrapped the pictures of George that I had used in my mini book, I just love them! Lynne has ordered more Bo Bunny stock which will be in the studio from the beginning of September. I cant wait....they are gorgeous I had a sneek peak at them.

I have also finished my page, that we did a few weeks ago. The class cut all of the flowers out but I'm not that patience so I altered my design slightly and just cut out some of the flowers to overlap the photo of me and me Grandma, sipping wine and chatting at the get together we had for my 36th birthday! I added a florish and a title to finish the page off.

Well, it Monday morning and I am recovering from a hectic quilting/sewing calendar. This weekend it was my monthly sewing class and The Festival of Quilts at the NEC. Our group hire a coach, there was about 40 of us. The show is so big you never get to see everything in a day. I did a bit of retail therapy....I bought some gorgeous fabric, it's the Amy Butler range.

At my monthly class on Saturday I made a new tote bag for all the new fabric I was going to purchase on Sunday LOL! The pattern is on one of the blog I follow Moda Bake Shop, it has some great patterns for bags, quilts, cushions.......

Star signs ATC's Craft Den Challenge

This is my Star Sign ATC. I have fond memories as a teenager I would alays go to the Horoscope pages first and I would read out the horescopes to my friends. The ATC is a pocket which holds a tag with my horescope on......

LOVE: This weekend looks surprisingly social. With a Leo moon spurring you on, steer clear of the karaoke!

LUCK: Batteries need a recharge? Why not dust off the picninc basket and rekindle your inner nature girl?

Who believes these... I used to as a young girl LOL!

My recoverery....

Long time no blog...... I am on the road to recovery. My leg is sore, Ive certainly got one hell of a rugby players thigh! It will be a while before the swelling goes down. I have lots of boring exercises to do but in between the exercises I have been getting a spot of creative therapy. Nothing too strenuous, its a kit I bought some time ago, All My Memories accordion mini book.

I wanted to scrap our camping trip from earlier this summer in Holbeach. Here are a few of my favourite pages.....

Big G showing off his rosette for coming Third in the Oldies catagory.... with his proud Daddy! I love George so much I could eat him!

We camped right by The Fens so it was perfect, here's Uncle Martin showing Isabel and her Daddy how to fish!!!

I adore this picture of Daisy and George together in the boot of my car. It was a hot weekend so when we stopped at the supermarket I opened the boot to cool them down. Look at BJ in the back ground..."Im too hot and bothered to look cute!"

Home again....

Big G chillin' in the tent with his Daddy!
What a week.....the joys of the English weather! We had a great week camping, not quiet as relaxing as I would like but good none the less! It was our first family camping trip for a full week, my mum and her family and my sister and her family. We were camping in a nice little village called Burgh Le Marsh which is just outside Skegness. On the 1st weekend, it was the Bullies In Need Fun Day which we have supported for a number of years, its always a fun day out and I get to see lots of dogs and enter the dog show with my mob! Here's me showing BJ, he came second in the catagory "The dog the Judge would most like to take home"!

We spent a day in Skegness, the kids (including the big kid, my OH) enjoyed the rides in Pleasure Beach. I think the Waltzer was their favourite, you wouldn't get me on there for a million pounds! I finally met Gail, sorry Gail if I appeared like a stalker! I just knew it was you when I saw the bullie in a pram! It was really nice to chat, you have a very cute bullie. I cant believe she is 12!

This is my mum watching the rest of the family play crazy golf...me and my mum are so a like, just happy holding the bags, dogs and baby while the rest go off and play, we have no competiveness in us!

My mum talked about her childhood memories of strolling down the promenade with her mum and dad as a small child and having her picture taken so I thought I would get an up to date shot....I dont think it quite has the same effect but in years to come it will have the same memories, Im sure!
