More holiday crafting....

Whilst on my crafting holiday I made a few cards, anyone who knows me knows I love cupcakes so I couldnt resist buying these cupcake shaped cards. I decorated them with some scraps of paper and added ribbon and a few gems. I also finished my January 25th page. I was at work on the 25th of January and forgot to take pictures...oops! So my page shows the highlights of January rather than what I did on the day!
We had lunch in the Aidensfield Arms whilst in North Yorkshire. I had a lovely sticky toffee pudding for dessert which came with a doily on the plate....I took mine home! I know, only a crafter would do that! I made the card below using the doily!
I also finished off a project that has been on the go for too long! I have collected a lot of country/chicken themed fabric over the years which I have made into 4 place mats and a table runner. I added some ric rac too, I just love it!

An enjoyable week was had by all.....

We had a great crafting holiday in Whitby. The weather was mainly fine, we did have some snow on our last day which was lovely to see on the North Yorkshire Moors. We had a few trips out to Scarborough and Goathland, and squashed in a few craft shops along the way!

Here are Kath, Ros and Norma , taking in the scenic views of the Heartbeat village. We did make it to the Mermaid...sorry The Magpie! We only had to queue for a short time and the sun was out so we didn't mind. It was well worth the wait! We even sat by the sea with a 99 ice cream that day to enjoy the sunshine!
Me, Kath and her sister Ros, who doesnt really sew made a bag in the first few days! It was a drawstring bag with embroidered patchwork outer bag. The girls manage the project well and we all went home with a completed bag. I will update my blog later this week with some of my other projects. Also Ros kindly taught me how to crochet!
I promise we did find time to relax, even managed to enjoy a bottle of wine or two!

Sewing on Saturday....

On Saturday I attended my monthly sewing day at Quilttime. This month we were making quilts for Project Linus . The Charity provide a sense of security and comfort to sick and traumatised babies, children and teenagers through the provision of new home made patchwork quilts and knitted / crocheted blankets. Here are a selection of quilts that were handed in on the day, my friend Norma made 11 of them, she's a star! Here are some more that were made on the day. Each member had made a number of patchwork blocks over the last few months, then on Saturday we put them together to make up the quilts.
I have been working on making a quilt over the last few months for Project Linus which I took to finish on the day but I got carry away with taking pictures of all the lovely quilts that I didnt take a picture of mine! I will take a picture when it is totally finished!
You might have noticed a item at the top right of my blog? I am running Race for Life this July in Worksop in aid of Cancer Research so if you would like to sponsor me I would be ever so grateful. I completed my first practise 5k run this morning, it took me 37 minutes!

What a busy weekend, I don't thing I've stopped. The girls came round Friday night and we made 50 wedding invites for my Sister's wedding in May. It was a very productive evening with pizza and wine, I'm amazes we got so much done! Then on Saturday morning I went for a run to Graves Park and back. The running is getting better but it was soooo cold on Saturday morning. My brother turned 30 last week so he was up in Sheffield for the weekend for a family party. He took his older sisters clubbing, we had a really good night....but I think I'm too old for clubbing though! I felt a bit delicate on Sunday so I didnt really leave the house! I caught up on some crafting time. I made a few cards using my new Big Shot machine! I've not got many dies so I apologise the cards are all the same and very basic.
I thought I would be prepared and make a Mother's Day card. I used my new Martha Stewart punch which I bought at the Craft Den last week.

Things have been so hectic last week I forgot it was the 25th January so this month's page won't have any photos which will be a good challenge! I will post my 25th page later this week.
